Hi everyone,
It's been quiet here lately, guess we're all busy with the holidays approaching.
I am curious about something:
Why do some dogs chase cars?
I have had many dogs and none of them have ever chased cars. I know they aren’t extra brilliant or anything, it just has never been my experience.
I have always wondered why some people have dogs that go crazy when they see a car go by. I read on another forum someone wants to get their dog a shock collar to help them stop chasing the cars? That’s very wrong in my mind as I don't think it will resolve the underlying problem so I would like to understand why some dogs have this issue with cars.
Maybe I can enlighten her? I look forward to your input.
Cathy

Ann Rader | | I read somewhere that dogs see cars as some sort of prey, just like they will run after deer or another animal. That makes sense to me.
I don't understand people that let their dogs run loose. Mine is always under close surveillance – I would never let him off leash if there was a car around. I imagine he might take off after it just like he does with squirrels. Speaking of which, it’s so cute when a squirrel runs up a tree. He runs along barking with his head up and his eyes on the tree tops. Once he even ran into something. He doesn’t watch where he’s going.
